Why is it so many people use old pictures that dont accurately represent themselves? Do they think u may not notice? How old is too old for a pic?

Why do some people post misleading pics   11/17/2018

Seems from my experience that some people when you meet them, are clearly older or theyve used a lot of filters on their picture. Do they not know when someone meets in person they might notice?
